How to Get Rid of Browser Extensions
McAfee WebAdvisor is a dedicated browser extension that you can get with McAfee. This extension is compatible with Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome. This extension monitors your online activity in real-time and warns you about weak passwords or infected downloaded.
No matter what extension you have, the core-antivirus scans your device for malware. Extensions can also take over the default search engine, and change it to a custom or third-party. This problem can be fixed by disabling or removing the browser extension.
You can remove Google Chrome by following these steps:
1) Open the browser (Chrome. IE. Firefox).
2) Click on the Setting Menu > More Tools > Extensions
3) Select the McAfee WebAdvisor > trash from the Extensions page.
Open Firefox's Menu settings, and click Add-ons. Select McAfee WebAdvisor from the new tab and then click on Disable. Open Internet Explorer and click on Menu Settings. Select McAfee WebAdvisor from the new tab and then click on Disable.
Alternatively, you can also uninstall the extension via the Control Panel. Windows devices can go to System Settings > Applications and Features. Select the product you wish to uninstall and click on Uninstall. Restart the device if necessary.
Alerts can be disabled
You might be able to disable some alerts while keeping others. This option is available under the settings. These steps will allow you to modify these settings:
1) Load McAfee's Dashboard.
